IRC channel

If you would like to chat with other 64 Studio users, apart from the forums on this site there is a #64studio channel on irc.freenode.net which you can use with Gaim (on the Internet menu in 64 Studio).

floppy0: sensei repl[0]=80

Hi,

I receive the following error messages:

floppy0: unexpected interrupt floppy0: sensei repl[0]=80

These messages render trying to do any work on the console helpless.

I do now have a floppy and the floppy controller is listed as disabled in the BIOS. I have also tried enabling it in the BIOS as well. No dice.

Any ideas? Thanks.

64studio on freenode should either be maintained, or not listed here as an avenue for support... i offer to take op's in the channel if that is helpful...

Registration in process

We are in the process of registering #64studio officially with freenode, but in the meantime it can be used for informal community support. Thanks for your offer of help - I will be in contact once the registration has been successful :-)

From Studio to Studio

I started with Ubuntu Studio and decided that the RT Distros for Linux are how I wanted to Explore Digital Media going forward. I was hooked by a program called "Hexter" the DX7 Modeling plugin for the DSSI hosts that come with Ubuntu Studio. Hexter is still the reason I return minute after minute. So why 64? Well during my first experiences with Linux Studio my HDD crashed beyond repair because of old age. So rather than buying a new hard drive I started messing around with the Live ThumbDrive images. This made computing fun again. Look MOM no Hard Drive! Only problem was that Ubuntu Studio didn't want to support a Live flavor. After tediously trying to remix my favorite Studio with a RT kernel I thought, Why don't I give those 64 guys a chance. Low and Behold 64 Studio LIVE 2.0 for i386.My old Compaq Presario (I know don't say it) never sounded better or ran smoother. I now no longer have an old laptop in front of me. I have the Synth of my dreams. Complete with a TK707 app and my beloved QmidiArp installed by ME! Next project to add Timidity to my flash drive. Thanx !, youz guyz are true GURUs. Never STOP inventing!

Live Persitent Data

My Live USB of 64 Studio doesn't save persitent Data like my Ubuntu Live images did. Is there a correct way to do this apart from USB-Creator?

final IRC word

i spoke with a freenode staffer, and apparently someone from the 64studio team can go to http://freenode.net/group_registration_form.php and request a replacement group registration form to regain control of the IRC channel #64studio... good luck guys, and thanks again...
