Mailing lists

There are two public mailing lists for 64 Studio. The users list is aimed at people who want to share information on the practical aspects of free software multimedia creation, rather than follow development and bug tracking. You can subscribe here:

http://lists.64studio.com/mailman/listinfo/64studio-users

Developers and other project contributors should subscribe to the development mailing list:

http://lists.64studio.com/mailman/listinfo/64studio-devel

Please note that due to spam, we reject all non-member posts to these mailing lists - so you need to subscribe before you make your first post.

PyXML is also known as python-xml
In Debian the package is called python-xml: http://packages.debian.org/etch/python-xml You can install this package on 64 Studio if you enable an Etch source in your repository list.

Firewire card audio interface
I have a Presonus Firebox, and it runs fine with 64Studio 2.0 straight off, no need to install any drivers -the freebob drivers running with jack are included. It can record at 96KHz. Sounds pretty good. Presonus were a mic-preamp company to begin with so apparently their preamps are good quality. Only two phantom mic ins, but for me that's enough. Also MIDI. Here's their site: http://www.presonus.com/firebox.html It's pretty good value comparatively too I think :)
