wineasio question

I've used wineasio, many versions, in many distributions. I've been judiciously testing some of the 64 Studio 3 packages in Hardy and Mepis with quite a bit of success. One package I was interested in was wineasio. In Ubuntu I had been using a 0.7.3 .deb I had converted from an rpm from JAD. I recently tried the 0.7.4+pjones package from http://apt.64studio.com/backports/pool/main/w/wineasio/. It seemed like it wasn't working at all with my Reaper install until I realized I had to manually make the connections in qjackctl between my soundcard and Reaper. This has never been the case in previous versions of wineasio I have used. Is this by design? I suppose some people might not want a one size fits all automatic connection. Just wondering. I had gotten used to the automatic connection. Regards, Eric

Hello, I don't have your question or I can't answer your question, but since you have wineasio working I don't. When I first installed 64studio 3 days ago wineasio worked with Jack. But now it doesn't, I use Buzzmachines and I connect from Buzz to jack to ardour2. I wanted to do this because Buzz has no real wave editing but great wav recording 32bit to be exact, anyway what version of Wine are you using and how did you get wineasio to work with Jack and keep it working? And btw I am using 64studio i386 Etch what version are you using? And also wineasio's output was mono only I couldn't get it to streem in Stereo have you acomplished this? In other words wineasio connection from wine will not show up in Jack connections. Thanks

Sorry for the delay in replying. I'm using the 2.6.29-rt kernel from the new 64 Studio 3.0 beta release on Mepis 8, which is based on Lenny. I think the wine version is something from Mepis' own repository, rather than Debian or 64 Sudio's. I will have to double check the version numbers when I am at my laptop later today. Are you using Qjackctl? What are you seeing as far as wineasio connections there? Everything is in stereo for me.

Hello again, thanks for your reply, atm I can't get jack to function :P anyway that is my biggest problem among all linux distos, It could be my Audigy SE Soundblaster I imagine. But with wineasio and Jack, when i did have it working in 64studio it would only be in MONO two speakers but no stereo panning, I could not find a way in Jack's connections to make it work that way with stereo, and Jack didn't have a Midi input as well, it was an older version, and also at this moment 64studio is uninstalled as well. But hope to reaquent myself with it again, I just want a system to work with jack that is all, and 64studio did that for me. I would really like to download what you have, Debian 64studio Lenny. I was using Etch, too outdated I'm afraid, could I get a link from you where you downloaded Lenny for 64studio, and I'll give er a go again? And yes I use Qjackctl.
