First test for audio recording - beta3

Just wanted to let you guys know that I did about 4 hours of non-stop recording/editing/mix downs this week and it was totally flawless. Recording environment: I was pushing Hydrogen, zyn, while recording my guitar via mic-to-mixer at the same time through Jack into Ardour. All 3 going at once. No xruns. Editing environment: Hydrogen/Jack/zyn stayed open (not doing any playback) while I was in Ardour editing and mixing, no xruns again. Think I might have opened up a few non-audio apps (firefox, pidgin, evolution) while I was doing this.. no xruns. Mixdown environment: Pushed everything out of Ardour through JACK EQ and Jamin to create a final mixdown. No xruns again. So all in all, my audio production needs are spot on. I still get the weird error at boot about kernel map protect as well as the glib crashes for nautilus when shutting down. These things don't seem to affect the Xserver or any hardware from what I can see.

I will definitely edit that into place. Has anyone else mentioned anything about the glib/nautilus thing? I looked at TRAC and didn't see anything there...

Correct the kernel error message you see in the boot verbose. $ sudo gedit /etc/sysctl.conf Comment out this entry. kernel.maps_protect =1 (like this) #kernel.maps_protect =1 Nice report, Nice results :-) Great to see. Cheers! Dave.
