I don't recall this happening before using beta 3.0, but Hydrogen keeps crashing whenever I try to use the jack driver specifically and select individual track outputs. I have to clear the conf file to get it to start again. Anyone else famialar with this? I think I will try builing 9.4 from source. I am using Hydrogen .9.3 and Jackd .116 brian@64studio:~$ hydrogen lash_init: Not attempting to start daemon server automatically Warning: no locale found: /usr/share/hydrogen/data/i18n/hydrogen.en_US.UTF-8 Warning: error loading locale: /usr/share/hydrogen/data/i18n/hydrogen.en_US.UTF-8.qm Hydrogen 0.9.3 [Jan 6 2008] [http://www.hydrogen-music.org] Copyright 2002-2005 Alessandro Cominu Compiled modules: (FLAC) (LASH) (Jack) (Alsa) (OSS) (LRDF) Hydrogen comes with ABSOLUTELY NO WARRANTY This is free software, and you are welcome to redistribute it under certain conditions. I installed 0.9.4 Beta 3 and it got rid of the segfault. Haven't found any bugs in an hour of use. :)

Hydrogen Segfault

Hi, I am using v.3.0 beta (32bit) and Hydrogen was working fine until this morning after I installed some extra LADSPA plugins from the repository (Ubuntu Studio plugins package) - although this may be coincidental of course - I uninstalled the new plugins but no change to the segfault error. I got the error messages as below. I tried reinstalling from the repository, didn't fix anything, so I took Dave's advice and built Hydrogen 9.4 from svn source using the build instructions at http://trac.assembla.com/hydrogen/wiki/development%3Aqt4compile. I took the option to build a deb package as well. So I haven't really contributed much to the discussion of identifying the cause of the error, but if you get a similar error then at least a build from source can get you out of trouble (as it often does). Not only has the problem disappeared but the new interface for Hydrogen is pretty cool as well! Although it took a minute or two to find everything. ;o) Terminal output begins here:- Hydrogen 0.9.3 [Jan 6 2008] [http://www.hydrogen-music.org] Copyright 2002-2005 Alessandro Cominu Compiled modules: (FLAC) (LASH) (Jack) (Alsa) (OSS) (LRDF) Hydrogen comes with ABSOLUTELY NO WARRANTY This is free software, and you are welcome to redistribute it under certain conditions. Client Hydrogen removed from project project-1 Project project-1 removed xruns at initial startup, fine when closed & re-opened (new testing kernel?) I don't recall xruns before the kernel upgrade. Working ok after initial startup xruns. The new testing kernel is playing some part here. Using default jack and hydrogen. I don't know if this helps but it has given me a bit more insight into the new testing kernel and hydrogen. Maybe building 9.4 from source will clear the problem. I hope it does. Cheers! Dave.
