ATI X1650 cant boot with Live CD

Hi, I can't get my system to finish booting. It starts up OK, then the splash screen it also fine, I can hit F2 to see it booting, but right when it goes to start X, I get a black screen with "no signal" in my display. I can't get the liveCD to boot. (Also similar problem trying to use other liveCD's such as Ubuntu 9.04.) Any advice? Thanks! rick

Oh yea, it is an ATI RV535 Radeon X1650 servies video card with 512MB. Thanks again. rick

Hey Rick, I assume you are running 64 Studio 2.1, right? I recall that I had the same problem when I first installed it and I have a ATI Radeon Mobility x1600. I don't remember exactly what fixed it, but I think I had to edit /etc/X11/xorg.conf because it couldn't auto detect the H/V sync rate. The answer is on this forum somwhere, I will try finding it and post back if I find it or you can search for it as well.
