Hi All
Just loading Beta 3 to the above system to see what happens!!
Not sure what Jack will show me as regards Connections on the adats.
Will let you know!
Cheers
Bob
The RME cards makes this quite easy, because you can slave the second card's clock from the first card using the wordclock connections.
Joining the cards in Jack is not hard:
See the section on "Virtual multi channel devices" The cards then behaves as one ALSA device, which you can access as one massive device in Jack.
Just be sure to use the wordclock, as sync problems can cause havoc in jack (Read: Hundreds of X-Runs)
Your new system sounds like a scorcher. Let us know if you got it going!
Cheers,
Quentin
HI Quentin
Got is sorted I used synaptic to load some nvidia-glx envy
and that seemed to rewrite the xorg thing, a 22" screen at 800x600 is no joke!
I got a basic pci express thing G force 6400 GT.
Do you know of any way to join the two RME cards so ardour/Jack just see one card?
Cheers
Bob
Ps looking nice now by the way
OK 3 hard drives with different os's started to confuse me
So reformat here I come.
I have installed beta 3, as 2.1 doesn't like my Nic, which seems to bring the install to a stop.
Should make booting less painless.
Just got to find which sound card of the to gets picked up first!
Cheers
Bob
