M-Audio Delta 1010LT sound card problems - no input, no midi
Hi -
Thanks to everybody for your hard work on 64 studio and related projects, and for the input on this forum - a very valuable tool
I got 64 studio up and running, but i'm having trouble with my M-Audio 1010lt pci sound card. The sound was recognized automatically during the install process and it's a brand new card so I assume everything is in working order
I can play sound out - i.e. from a youtube video - but no matter what I do I haven't been able to get sound in. The card inputs and outputs appear in jack, and I can see all the inputs and outputs in the envy 24 control mixer. I have played with all of the mixer controls and mute buttons and hw/pcm routing options etc., and i know that I am sending a good sound signal to the inputs, and I've tried various combinations of the rca input jacks. But, nothing can be heard, nothing is seen on the envy 24 mixer levels, and nothing shows up in meterbridge on jack, and I cant get any recorded sound via ecasound.
So, how do i get sound in - am i missing some obvious setting, or do I need a different driver version or what?
Also, whenever anything tries to read from /dev/midi, the whole system freezes. i.e. if I try to launch pd, or if I just cat /dev/midi. I can work around this by renaming /dev/midi to something else, but eventually I'd like to have midi input also :-)

/dev/midi is an OSS thing,
still have the /dev/midi freeze though . . .
disregard . . .
