E-MU 0404 PCI Chip Question

So I decided to peel off the E-MU stickers from the two chips on my EMU 0404 PCI. The only comparible-size chip to the EMU10k1 (which I have sitting side-by-side on a Sound Blaster Live!) says XILINX SPARTAN, then four lines of numbers. I did a quick google on the numbers and came up with nothing that relates to the EMU10k1 chip... Now, I'm no hardware or driver genius... but could this be why a few 0404's don't work with the 10k1 alsa driver? I understand that this could still be the 10k1 chip, granted thinner and without branding... but it's just a thought. -Troy
