Are Spec's of Development Site's Dual Opteron available

Dear Sirs, Could you post the spec's of the Development Site's Dual Opteron computer; MB, CPU, RAM, video card, sound card, etc? I'm interested in building a DAW computer to run 64 Studio. I'm looking for a tried and true combo. I've read the 940 socket Dual Opteron system (running LINUX) are extremely stabile, which is my main goal. I'm not interested in leading edge technology, rather technology the that was leading edge 3-4 years ago (and cost effective). Thanks, Brent,

The dual Opteron test machine is based on a Tyan S2875 board with two Socket 940 model Opteron 240's. I'd say it works very well, except for a hardware lock-up when using the MIDI on an ICE1712 sound card, for example the M Audio Audiophile 24/96. I believe this is due to a general bug in this particular ALSA driver affecting all dual Opteron machines with this card. There is a patch available in this thread: http://mailman.alsa-project.org/pipermail/alsa-devel/2007-April/000461.html The stability is partly due to the fact that these boards are higher quality than typical desktop PCs have, and need registered memory (much more expensive). So if you buy one of these boards second-hand, you should make sure it has working memory in it (test with memtest86+ from http://www.memtest.org/). The video card is an AGP 32MB Matrox G550 dual head - good 2D, silent, only basic 3D performance - but that's fine for a DAW.
