Fresh 2.1 then 3.0 install - happy now
Hello, new here I am.
I just installed 64Studio 2.1 onto an emachines box, and ran into the tetex-bin issue initially, found this forum and tweaked my bios date, and the install completed, but at the end, I had no sound coming from my speakers and my screen resolution was something like 480x640.
I had burned a 3.0 beta dvd at the same time as the 2.1 disk, so I figured I´d spin that one up and see where it took me.
WOW. The difference between 2.1 and 3.0 is ridiculous (at least on my machine)
First noticible was the full 1280x1024 screen resolution, then, the 1st synth I started tapping on immediately started sending beautiful sound waves from my speakers. JOY!
I haven´t tried out all the packages yet, and may need to do some tweaking, but for the time being I am very impressed.
Here are my computer stats, sound and video are both on the mobo for now (but working). One of the memory slots on the mobo is lame, so thereś only half of what it could be.
