Can someone make this sticky? Im so confused because there are so many clashing posts on this forum as to whether it is possible to install NVIDIA drivers on the Beta 3.0 version of 64studio. Can someone give me a blunt answer here to clear this issue up? If you cant help, maybe it would be a good idea to post progress on the issue here. Thanks, Chris.

Lest start from scratch. Which version of 3beta3 do you have installed? 32 of 64. You need to activate the 64studio hardy-backports repository, and make sure your system is current. Also make sure you have all the ubuntu security updates installed. Lets take it one step at a time. Your turn ;-)

Envy is easy to use if you have default kernels, but is does not "know" our RT kernels.

The best way would be to actually go to the Nvidia site, download the driver of your card, and install it according to the driver's instructions. This is not hard work and took me all of 10min to do.

The blunt answer is: Yes. I have done this, so it is absolutely possible. Get the files you need from the Harleystudio Apt repository, and run the Nvidia installer of your choice. deb http://apt.harleystudio.co.za/ hardy main If you need files not supplied there, please let me know so I can look for them in one of my various back-up sets. Cheers, Quentin
