64studio not booting properly after installation.

This matter is actually discussed in the mailing lists, but I thought that if there's someone who isn't reading the list but is reading the forum who could help. Here is the link to my latest post: http://lists.64studio.com/pipermail/64studio-devel/2007-August/004988.html So basically, as I mention, I bought a brand new PATA HD, and even that doesn't solve the problem. So I am actually helpless here. Anyone with some good advice?

Hi, I was having the same problems too (or a similiar problem) when booting. I have two PATA hard drives (one 80, one 320) and upon boot the message "Begin: Waiting for root file system... ..." would just hang the system. At least, for the 3 minutes I was waiting, and this would happen everytime I would attempt to boot up. Re-Installing 64Studio, worked, however. With the same configs as the previous installation (partitions, etc) and it boots, loads and runs. I have re-tested this also, I installed Fedora as a test. Then tried 64Studio again, but came with the same problem. Re-Installed 64Studio and now it works! Any logical explanation for this? I'm none the wiser.

Yes, well I have reinstalled 64studio for almost 20+ times on several disks, and it keeps doing the same thing over and over. It's very confusing because I seem to be the only person suffering constantly of this bug, whereas other people just say that they just had to reboot or reinstall the thing and *BAM* it worked just sweet.

And as I said in a previous comment on the mailing list, I installed (just for curiosity) newest Xubuntu to the SATA-drive that refused to work before with 64studio. Now it works like a charm. What's the difference there that does the trick?
