I am totally new and having problems with wireless.

Hi and I am pleased to say I got studio 64 installed onto my laptop, my first step into the land of linux. My first hald back is the fact I cannot work out how to get onto a wireless network. When I unplug my network cable I click on the network icon the bottom right and select my wireless card which it calls: "Wired Network (Intel Coporation/Wireless 3945ABG Network Connection)". An icon with a spinning green circle appears but I do not see how I can find my wireless network. I hope you can help, Dom.

My wireless light in the

My wireless light in the laptop is not on either and will not switch on when I press it! So I guess that means the hard ware is not even activated in the system.
