If it is DSL case use this guide. It is a Ubuntu guide, but is the very same concept. Since Ubuntu is Debian based as well S64.

Where it says to insert the Ubie CD, use the S64 CD.
I have the pppoe/dsl situation as well...but i use the pppoe setup in my router and then the nic in my pc (as well as all the others on my network) point to the gateway. simple and effective. ZERO problems with my setup on any machine.
The guide would work if you have pppoe installed or availabe to install. It was ommitted fron the 2.0 release, but will be included into 2.1 release (as per Free)
To make mick.ca's way work you need to get yourself a DSL router (hardware). This will communicate with your DSL modem (via PPPoe) and your PC then just points to this router as the gateway. I have a small network going in my studio, and one older PC is set up to be my internet gateway router, and a small webserver. It works quite well for me, but having another PC to do internet for only one other PC is not smart. Rather get a hardware DSL router - they are not expensive.

This is an excellent article about DSL. However,
satellite DSL should be considered as an alternative, particulary in rural areas without regular DSL or cable internet access.

Well I could use a little help even for Windows in this case. I am really interested into knowing more about DSL applications though as there are many areas that could use it. Thanks for the link, I think it's perfect for learning more about satellite internet.
