Emu 1212m snd_emu10k1_fpga

Does anyone have an idea where I can find the snd_emu10k1_fpga module? I have hunted high and low, reinstalled several times, compiled the 3 alsa libraries individually after installing an ncurses library required by the util compile and still get a "module not found" for the snd_emu10k1_fpga module. Any ideas??? FWIW, the compiling put a boatload of modules on the system; in /usr/src/alsa/alsa-driver-1.0.15rc2/modules. The sad part is the 64studio system was working flawlessly with the A8ne onboard Nvidia chipset, which I have disabled. I just need the ADAT I/O for my Tango24 AD/DA unit and I thought a nice generic emu/creative card would be the way to go. Any help would be appreciated.

This is usually one of the first things I do if I get WEIRD hardware stuff... Change the position of the hardware in the case! Sometimes you have IRQ clashes in you hardware, and you can (sometimes) fix this by just moving the hardware around. NB NB NB: Just be sure to work in the least static environment you can find. If you can get a wrist strap, use it. You might think that the hardware did not get damaged when you notice the slight hiss on one of your output channels...

Well I added the module and

Well I added the module and options to the alsabase and aliases files and still nothing. When I run alsaconf the first screen shows the emu10k1 module being unloaded yet the system doesn't appear to know it's there. I still get the "Card not found" error at the end of alsaconf. MAJOR frustration......

As far as I know the module name is simply snd_emu10k1 - try this and let us know! Cheers

I am running the latest 64studio with an emu1212m card which is the Audigy2 SB0400. Any ideas???

I have three sound devices in my system, and I must tell you that EVERY time I used alsaconf I ended up with a broken sound system. Strangely, It works perfectly when I do a default install. Did you want to configure your audigy as the default card? See the User FAQ section 10 for guidance. http://www.64studio.com/faq_user Hope it helps!
