Where is System Information/Properties?

I'd like to know my hardware configuration/specifications (i.e. the resources: IRQ/DMA/etc. that my devices use) but i can't find it. Windoze XP has 'System Properties' and KDE has 'KInfoCenter." What about GNOME? Thanks.

Perhaps because, until you mentioned it, I never looked for one. Didn't need it I guess! So, I assume many other people felt the same way...

Finally, someone responded! Well, i google'd for 'gnome system info' and found this: http://72.14.253.104/search?q=cache:fEa_yFu6EocJ:www.linux-mag.com/id/532/+gnome+system+info&hl=en&ct=clnk&cd=20&gl=us Yes, it's old, but apparently GNOME, at least at some point, had a System Info tool, but for some unknown reason decided to drop it some time later. Why?

AFAIK GNOME does not have a convenient Info GUI. I guess you're supposed to root around in /proc for this information. Following up some of the links in http://www.64studio.com/manual/configuration_guide/advanced might provide some useful clues. More feedback on this issue would be useful. This may be worth opening a ticket for, either with 64studio or directly with GNOME. I find this annoying and far from obvious.

Well, I found Kcontrol and Kinfocenter in /usr/bin, but doesn't GNOME have its own System Info?
