Menu Editor

Is there some special trick to editing the menus in 64 Studio? When I right click on the Gnome footprint icon and select "Edit Menus", the window that pops up just gives me a tree view of my menu items. No way to add, edit or delete anything, can't even right click on menu items to show properties. So, what's the trick to editing the menus in 64 Studio?

Where to file a bug report?

Do we just file bug reports here, or is there a special place for it? I just reinstalled Alacarte and still have the same results. Right click a menu item, select "Properties" and the little dialog window never appears. Just as a test, I wanted to see if I could fix the "USB View" menu item so that it has an icon next to it. No luck, I can't get to the properties of that menu item to fix it. This is also a fresh install of 64 Studio with all of the latest updates applied to it through the update manager.

We try to automate menu generation, for example by fixing packages that don't have functional menu entries or icons. So if you install a package but no icon appears in the menu, please file a bug against that package. If you just want to get rid of existing menu entries, there is a 'Show' checkbox next to each individual item if you right-click on the footprint icon and select 'Edit Menus'. Cheers!

Maybe you should report that bug to devel since alacarte works fine with me.

Tried Alacarte before I posted my message and it doesn't work. For example, like the one included in Ubuntu, you can right click on any menu item to display its properties, or add or delete menu items. Not in 64 Studio, either that version of Alacarte is broken, or 64 Studio is breaking it.

Try Alacarte, Its on the official debian repos.
