I get this message part way into install: "No common CD-ROM drive was detected". Now obviously it was detected or I wouldn't have gotten this far. This problem is not restricted to 64Studio; it has happened with several other distros. I have a SATA CD/DVD if that makes a difference. Anyone have a solution?

I'd suggest trying to do

I'd suggest trying to do something similar to what I did to get my SATA/AHCI disk installed: can you alter a setting in the BIOS to put the SATA interface into IDE mode? If you can, that might get you through the installation. Regards Steve Author of GENPO - the GENeral Purpose Organ -
