Why does my wireless internet work on 64studio?

Hi, I'm wondering why my wireless internet (rt2500) works out of the box in 64studio. On debian (etch/ lenny) this isn't the case. I've to build the whole stuff and use wireless assistant. Maybe I can learn something from the builders of 64studio. My compliments about this distro! Thanks in advance
