Midi: 2 Soundfonts on one Instrument?

Hello, I'd like the lower keys of my midi-keyboard to use soundfont 1 and the higher ones to use soundfont 2. Fluidsynth can at least use one soundfont for the whole keyboard and ZynAddSubFX on the one hand does make different sounds for the higher and lower keys but does not use soundfonts (sf2).

I just reread your post. You would like the MIDI hardware to split itself in two channels - I don't think it is possible without using some 3rd party program to do the splitting for you. I am not aware of such a program, but perhaps someone else on the forums or list might know...
