Routing with jack, ardour, rosegarden

I've setup a fairly complex routing arrangement between jack, ardour, rosegarden and battery. The only problem now, I've discovered, is that if something crashes or goes wrong or I just finish for the night I have to set up all the audio/midi ins and outs again in Jack. Is there some way to save this arrangement between all the programs so I don't have to do this? Very tiring and cumbersome if not. Also, is there something more manageable with the routing options instead of Jack Control. I've got a million different coloured lines all over the place that aren't so easy to navigate.

Actually, it seems to be the "Midi through" that it's forgetting.

The patchbay records the audio sockets but not the midi ones when i create the snapshot. What am i doing wrong?

use jack controls patchbay

when you have setup your connections, click on "patchbay", then new, and confirm snapshot creation of actual client connections. next session you just load this arrangement in patchbay, after starting your apps.
