The dust has not settled on the 2.2 release of Ardour, and they have brought out the much talked about "bugfix" release, not that I ran into any of the bugs myself.

I am compiling it as we speak and will let you know what I find...

In the mean time I also opened a ticket for it's inclusion in 64studio 2.1, as the release is a little late, and we can do with the best software on the new release!

Correction: It is released - Thanks Free

Cheers Quentin

I am impressed... This thing does everything I wanted it to, and more

As always, excellent work by Paul and his team.

Don't you just love linux!

Yep, all compiled and installed , looks great.

Is it just me or has the appearance been made a little bigger? I actually prefer it.

And the new wave outline makes matching two takes so much easier.

Also, the Beat Ferret is an interesting feature. It will chop up a region into it's beat components... Life in the FAST lane!

Cheers

Free just let us know that ardour 2.3 is ready in the testing repository.

If you are still at 64studio stabe, and would like to upgrade to testing, Daniel posted a workaround:

Work-around:

apt-get update apt-get remove 64studio 64studio-utils 64studio-tasksel-data tasksel tasksel-data apt-get install 64studio tasksel 64studio-upgrade

Does seem to hang at the end of the tasksel stage though. After that, it's fine.

Cheers,

Anything to do with the sessions not responding to keystrokes? How about crashing on new session load? several things have been weird for me today, not the least, i seem to be rapidly running out of diskspace for no apparent reason.

any more worth mentioning?

For any and all "quirks" and bugs in ardour, please let their development team know as well. Visit the site: http://www.ardour.org/ and report the problems on the mantis page.

Ardour is undergoing very aggressive development at the moment, and by keeping the guys informed we can get results rather quickly, as can be seen by the rapid releases of ardour...

my last update of synaptic provided updates to some alsa stuff. Has anyone had any problems since doing an update the last day or so? my hammerfall 9652 card is cutting out, but jack keeps running, all connections to the card are there, but sound just stops.

ideas?

thanx-

oh and btw, ardour is incredible now! - bar a few issues.
