Black screen after Booting up via LiveCd

I Use a nvidia GTS 7300 Card and an Acer x243w Flat Screen, after booting up and the system changes to the desktop x11 resolution i become a black screen. Also the boot-syntax: live vg=773 (written in the help F6) didnt help stil black screen. I can change to the shell because i didnt know the password for the su. ALso the thrid problem is i have the german keyboard layout. Where can i find the >>^<< the letter in nano? I prefer always vim :) to change some text ex. xconf.org. thanx Bob

You can use sudo without a password to do the dirty... ie: bash-3.1# sudo editor /etc/X11/xorg.conf Cheers,
