I promised to comment here behavior of QT. I had checked option "Execute script on start up" in Jack set-up window and this script was something like /usr/bin/ardourvst After unchecking I never met this strange behavior again. Thanks for help mirami Asus M6Va,CPU 2GHz, RAM 2GB, 64studio 32bit 2.1 pre14

I don't know how to solve this but I can offer some explanation. The fault lies not with the GUI but with Jack, which is crashing but remaining resident in memory waiting on a signal. It has become a 'zombie'. You are lucky that you can stop this simply by closing Ardour. In my case (on another Linux multimedia distro) I had to send it a kill signal which did not always work. My guess is that you have your applications set to start jack when they start, and that these multiple instances are in conflict. You may have to change that behaviour in the preferences menus of those applications and start jack yourself beforehand.

Hello zettberlin, It is hard to explain maybe some screenshot would be nice, but here is not possible to send attachment. All interface become more or less gray and there are no control buttons. Not responding on click. Till now It happens only when I am working with Ardour and HDSP Totalmix together ... don't know if this have some influence. After quitting Ardour everything is ok again. mirami Asus M6Va,CPU 2GHz, RAM 2GB, 64studio 32bit 2.1 pre11

> I have Qt GUI Interface 0.2.22 What exactly is that? And what do yo mean by "crippeled" are some buttons greyed out? I never had any such experience in about 4 years using qjackctl...
