new user on intel dq965gf motherboard w/core2duo

Started install and it made it down to ACPI: Assume root bridge [\_SB_.PCI0]bus is 0 and then stops and blinks forever. Tried install noapic nolapic and got the same. Any ideas welcome.

Got further with install acpi=no but now asks for cd-rom drivers. The lg gsa-h42n is on ide0 and hard drive on sda0. I am confused.
