What do I do with a ",deb" package

After trying Wine recently, I'd like to compare it against Crossover Linux. The latter seems to come in a ".deb" installer file which is something I've never used before. How do I go about my installation?

I found the answer. You just type :- sudo dpkg -i the_package_name.deb
