Hi first post. I am trying to install 2.1. System specs are. gigabyte 7vt600-rz motherboard AMD Athlon 3000+ 3 Gigs RAM Maxtor 30 gig HD IDE I get the error "Debootstrap Warning" while the base system is installing. It barfs right there no matter what I try. Found this thread after a search in the forum, only result for this type of error. This fellow got his error after the install was complete. When he booted into his system. It seemed nothing got resolved. Used K3b for the DVD-ISO burn. Thanks for any suggestions Philip

Hi.- first post: thanks to the 64 team for the download. -thanks mr DigitalRazor!- sure enough flashing the bios put the time back and that was the problem.(Mb:Foxconn winfast 6150K8MA-8EKRS) To quote Homer (Simpson) : "duh". Sometimes we pull out our hair while we should be looking for a comb... I didn't have this problem on my Gigabyte though, now I'll go over to the nvidia solutions to get the #~*µ thing past the black screen!

I had the same issue today.

I had the same issue today. I was loading onto a Gateway 450ROG and had this error. I checked the bios clock and date. It was 6/12/1988. I reset the clock and tried the install again. Problem Solved. Thanks DigitalRazor!

The Debootstrap error could be easier than one might expect.

I had the same error. However, considering I had it working before I had this error I knew it wasn't a BIOS error ( plus they don't make bios for my mobo anymore. going to the virtual console number 4 I found what the error was. I decided to go to Virtual console 4 and hash out what was wrong. Real time os's do not ( that is DO NOT) like installing on a system that has time in the past . ie. if its Jan 1, 2003 and your distro was made 08/08/08 you are going to run into this error with 64studio 2.1 every time. So .. check for BIOS update ( not a bad thing to do ) and check your cmos clock ( double check) the install will go smoothly.. now I'm going wrestle with the fact that I have 1 terabyte of storage that I want as a raid-0 for my video and audio data (keeping my OS on the IDE) on another note: I have played with this distro and the Ubuntu. with the small exception that ubuntu has a ever so slightly newer distro of blender and ardour. the 64distro is much more snappier on the GUI and gives me the feeling the os is working hard to keep up, and the fact that it supports my Echo Mia Midi out of the box is an added plus since A) I loath the sound of the Cmedia chip on my mobo and an RME Hammerfall is a little out of my price range since Im still working on the infrastructure of my studio. Thanks .. looking forward to Version3.0

Thanks for the suggestion

Thanks for the suggestion Quentin, flashing the bios to the latest had no effect.

Philip. I missed your post... The nice thing about paid support, is that you get Daniel and/or Free to sort out your issues. They are normally a bit busy with OEM projects and paid support to have time to offer support here, although they do pass though here every time and again... Back to your problem... Check that you have the latest BIOS for the motherboard. I had a similar problem in the beginning Cheers, Quentin PS: The post will not be deleted... It serves as a good example of why it is a good idea to bump an issue when you realise there is no response - like you did today. Should just have been a bit earlier

The lack of response to my install issue is very disappointing at best. I Could not imagine paying for support when I cannot even get one response that could help me get the thing installed. I would assume this post and topic will be deleted as to not discourage anyone from paying for help. This experience is very disheartening. If only we knew who we are entertaining would we never stray from humility.

I have checked the download
