Installation halts at installing base system.

I keep getting an error that says it is unable to install the base system. Any idea what could be causing this?

Disk partitioning?

Whenever I've encountered this message in the past... I think it's because I didn't do the "partitioning" step of the install right. Are you doing a dual boot, or a dedicated hard drive setup?

Did you do a md5 checksum on the ISO you downloaded? Make sure the integrity of the image is ok before burning it to disk. Sound like a corrupted installer DVD
