Hi. I installed Ubuntu Studio yesterday. And the audio part of it is great. BUT IT just WOULDNT work with my Wi-Fi card (which uses RT61 drivers). For those of you who don't know, Ubuntu Studio's file system is substantially different than standard Ubuntu's. Every driver i tried failed. It just didnt work. And without Wi-Fi i refuse to keep it. It's sad, you know why? I heard Normal Ubuntu ALREADY HAS the RT61 drivers built in to the kernel, so you dont need to install or anything, it automatically detects it. I was wondering if 64 Studio also automatically would detect my wi-fi card. It's an Edimax EW-7128. Please, I don't wanna have to fiddle around with any wi-fi drivers, its a horrible daunting task.

Hi LAUWannabe, Please open a ticket on TRAC ( on the left go to "Developers" -> "64 Studio Distro" and log in with you 64-studio developers list username and password. If you do not have one, subscribe to the developers list to get it. Thanks, Quentin

This is an older topic, but currently I have a similar problem (WLAN USB stick with RT73 chipset) and found out that the realtime kernel used by 64 Studio doesn't have the rt2x00 driver modules included because the realtime developers have disabled them because of compilation errors. Unfortunately they forgot to inform the rt2x00 team. In the meantime this bug has been fixed and newer kernels should compile without a problem. I therefore hope that the kernel in the release version of the 64 Studio 3 will have the rt2x00 drivers included.
