Gimp producing only 160x120 thumbnails

Raw images are opened as 160x120 images only and I can't see a work around (does it think it's on thumbnail duty? Have seen this with other distros incuding microsoft. "Just" reinstall? Pretty funny getting 10meg postagestamps! :)

Do you have a link to a similar image to download so I can check it out? My camera is getting archaic (no RAW yet...) Cheers
