I wrote this howto on one of the final release candidates for our 2.0 release "Electric" My 64studio was not removed, and I can only think that you are not 100% current on your updates. (Update: He was current)
Using lenny to ease dependencies is not always good, but traditionally the Debian Testing repository is already stable enough for day to day use. 64Studio was built on testing (until it recently became "stable")
Check it out, and let me know.
Cheers,
Malte already upgraded to 2.0 at the time. It could be a problem, but if anyone wants to try it, give it a go and let us know how it went.
It worked flawlessly on my machine, but I did not install from the 2.0 DVD.
Thanks,
Cinelerra install is real easy in debian. Please follow the instruction here
http://cvs.cinelerra.org/docs/split_manual_en/cinelerra_cv_manual_en_2.html#SEC15
or follow the 64studio cinelerra install How To : http://www.64studio.com/howto_cinelerra
This will give you the Community version of the application, which is a fork of the Heroine version.
Hope it helps,

Here is a great tutorial on how to download and compile Cinelerra. I used it and it was great with a few minor tweaks. It was written for Ubuntu, but that distro is based on Debian, so we are safe.
I am going to write a tutorial for Studio64, but I have not had the time yet, but this one above should help you out, with the minor tweaks listed below.
I would also recommend using aptitude to install the dependencies instead of apt-get, aptitude will resolve dependencies issues for you in a better manner. Make sure your apt.sources file is updated with proper repos.
Make sure you have an OpenGL2.0 capable card, using Cinelerra with OPenGL disabled is a waste of time.
After you download the current repo, it would be helpful to modify the configure file, to point to the proper directory of your openGL libraries, on 64studio. Just type the following command:
locate libGL.so.1
Please change this before attempting to compile, if not you will have issues. The configure file is located in the hvirtual directory. Open the file in a text editor and search for the term LibGL.so.1 and change the directory it points to the proper one. After doing that run:
sudo aptitude install libguicast (This line just makes sure you have the libguicast files)
then run ./configure (and whatever options you want, do .configure --help, to get more options)
Cruzin down the street in my 64. --Manasia
Ok, I stand corrected. It is not a point and click install, but then Cinelerra is not all free... and that make is just a little more interesting.
Besides the repository you have to add to get cinelerra,
deb http://giss.tv/~vale/debian64/ ./
you have to make sure the following are also active
deb http://www.debian-multimedia.org etch main
deb http://ftp.debian.org lenny main
I also enabled 64studio testing, just to make sure that synaptic doesn't forget about it roots ;-)
Before you select cinelerra and let it do it's thing you have to make sure the package util-linux is installed, if not- do it first.
Then select cinelerra and be away.
It's a Huge download with lots of changes made. I'll let you know what the damage amounts to after the install...
Well, that's it for now.
Cheers,
I added:
deb http://giss.tv/~vale/debian64/ ./
now cinelerra is showing up in the synaptic
but cannot install due to some missing prerequisites (any ideas where Icn get them?)
thank you
cinelerra:

Depends: libc6 (>=2.5-5) but 2.3.6.ds1-13 is to be installed
Depends: libgcc1 (>=1:4.2-20070516) but 1:4.1.1-21 is to be installed

Depends: libmpeg3hv but it is not going to be installed
after some time trying...I get the same. Libmpeg3hv will not install period. Libc6 is the wrong version no matter what version number of cinelerra I try via .deb package.
status: aborting this mission...:)
by the way...
It installed fine on my wife's Ubuntu box.
cheers

You have to enable the debian repository as well. If etch (stable) does not work, try lenny (testing).
I'll install it on my fresh system tonight, and make notes on how I did it.
Cheers
