Hello, Could you tell me what the 64studio testing repository is? I.e. the one here: deb http://apt.64studio.com/64studio/testing 64studio main What I want to know is whether it contains packages designed to work with debian stable or with debian testing? Thanks, andy

I am running 64 studio 3.0, based on debian testing. Works quite well, and with the 64 Studio Kernel.

thanks.

OK, thanks. I've decided to switch to debian testing for the time being but may come back to 64studio at some point. Thanks for your help. andy

64 Studio Testing is based on Etch, that is Debian Stable. The reason is is called testing, is because is it always the next stable release of 64 Studio, which is released much more frequently than Debian to include cutting edge applications and sometimes performance upgrades. Yes, we know it is confusing, but know that 64 Studio Stable, and 64 Studio Testing will always be based on Debian Stable. We have a beta of 64 Studio, based on Lenny, but this is not officially available, as Lenny itself is not stable yet, and vital packages gets changed in the final bug quenching drive before the release.
