Upgrading Jack

This morning I downloaded a tarball for jack-0.109.2. After doing the usual "./configure", "make" and "sudo make install" it's all installed. Unfortunately, it all got installed into /usr/local/bin/ whereas the previous copy was in /usr/bin/ What do I need to do to make my new installation replace the old one? P.S. - yes I know I can install using Synaptic but this is just an experiment at doing it a different way.

I found it. I need to use

I found it. I need to use the --prefix option at the ./configure stage.
