RME Multiface supported out-of-the-box?

I could not yet successfully install 64 studio on the target computer (tried 2.1 and 3.0 alpha so far) so currently I cannot check this personally: Is the RME Multiface (2) supported out-the-box? (alsa-firmware package + deps) The reason for my question is that my target computer is isolated (no network access, no internet access). Getting additional packages can therefore be a pain-in-the-a** because of the dependencies. With Ubuntu Studio I had to copy the needed packages several times on a USB stick until I had everything that I needed. I found a few threads about the Multiface in this forum but it is not mentioned if add-on packages had to be installed. Thanks.

Package: alsa-firmware

http://www.64studio.com/node/867 Yes, the MFII worked for me out of the box with 2.1 32-bit. I am also posting elsewhere success with the Axon AX50 Guitar to Midi convertor via USB....out of the BOX! Without any tweaking, my linux computer is now a headless VI appliance. I send program changes from my external controller, and it switches perfectly. I am using wine, wine asio, reaper and kore 2 inside reaper which then hosts all the usual stuff like Reaktor 5, Akoustik Piano, Kontakt 3, Guitar Rig 3....service center authorization works fine as well. It came out to be cheaper and more powerful than receptor...though with cost of kore maybe not. Best! jonathan adams leonard Lead Specialist, Synthax Inc RME | AXON | ALVA

Do you still have the packages?

64 Studio 3.0 will be based on ubuntu, and thus the packages you collected for ubuStudio should work if it is not supported out of box. Better still, if you tell us which packages you needed to add, we can ask free to include them in 64 Stuid 3.0 - in which case your multiface will work out of box. Nice hey?
