QSampler Crashes on input of GIG instrument

Hi, I'm using 64studio for a long time now, and i have used QSampler countless times. In the last few months (not sure if 2, 3 or 4, but something like that) QSampler ALWAYS crashes when i try to select an input for a new channel.. I get this output from the console: ~~~ Warning: no locale found: /usr/share/locale/qsampler_en_US.qm *** glibc detected *** double free or corruption (!prev): 0x0000000000681930 *** Aborted ~~~ Also I have noticed that although QSampler crashes, LinuxSampler DOES NOT, and it keeps on running. So i guess it's a QSampler bug. Could anyone give me a clue to what is happening?

Fixes for qsampler bugs now available

Hi TUDMotU, the crashing bug you mention is a known one and is fixed in 3.0 alpha. The edit button requires the gigedit package to be installed before it will function. If you are running 3.0 alpha you can find a backported package of gigedit here: http://apt.64studio.com/backports/pool/main/g/gigedit/ Cheers! Daniel

I had some issues with linuxsampler when using 64 Studio 2.1 but all is well now that I have moved to the 3.0 alpha. gigedit is still not active though - will open a ticket for that after some more testing. Cheers, Q

I had trouble with qsampler linking to gigedit.... i couldn't link to it with the 'edit' button. I googled and read something about a bug and that a fix would be attempted and placed in the testing repository. So I enabled the 'testing' repository in Synaptic and upgraded a few packages (did a search for 'sampler' and upgraded where possible), which broke qsampler in the way TODMotU described above. The fix: I disabled again the 'testing' repository, did a search for 'sampler' in synaptic and did a 'force version' back to the old version on the files I just upgraded. Still can't link the apps with the 'edit' button (fix, anyone?) but at least It appears to all run now EDIT: Sorry, I've just installed 2.1 and it's fresh and pretty much out-of-the-box right now
