Ardour need your help

Some of you may know already that SAE has ended the financial support of Paul Davis, the lead developer of Ardour. This means that donations are his only source of income for the development of Ardour. Ardour 3.0 is now in fast track development and it brings a whole array of exciting features, including MIDI support. We need as much work as possible to go into the development now, as Ardour 3.0 would possibly change the way the industry views open source software. (Personally I think that SAE might have ended support under pressure of some of the major players - but that's just a guess) Please subscribe or donate to the development of Ardour today

Hi all, Quentin wrote: (Personally I think that SAE might have ended support under pressure of some of the major players - but that's just a guess)... I would say it is a very good guess. Ardour is one of the gems in the GNU/Linux audio world. The features intended for the future release will make it even more of a target. Lets hope the community gives it all the support it needs at this difficult time. Cheers! dave

Everyone here at 64studio could donate some multimedia for distribution with all proceeds given to Ardour. How about some a live performance on-line(people paid big bucks to see David Bowie broadcast on-line) Lets raise the issue on other forums as well, like Ubuntu+Studio & Debian. Its not just about Ardour or 64studio, it's about GNU/Linuxaudio! We must Galvinize our freedoms. Think about the hardware manufacturers, think about all the hassels with powerful but unsupported hardware. Ardour can make them listen. We must not not loose that. What about Liontracs and the Trinity Audio Group? There making money out of Ardour, they have a moral obligation. Swim down! Swim down! (remember Finding Nemo?) Boycot SAE! Exert your influence where ever you can. Got any benevolent philanthropist freinds looking for cause? Make them feel good about themselves:( :| :) ;D Stand up! Be counted! I think we have all benifited from Ardour both indirectly aswell as drectly in more ways than we relize All together now "You just caaaall out my naaame, and you knooow wherever I aaaam..." Timing is Everything!
