installer not recognizing hdd

Nvidia nforce 780a chipset. SATA drive isn't recognized at all. I tried loading the sata_nv driver, but that didn't work. I can't really find a solution on google either. Any thoughts? Best regards, Justin

Checking in here . . . I found 3.0 Beta1 and tried installing, and on a great note my hdd was discovered! However I have a new problem with the installation that would fall under a different subject. Thanks for the advice!

Thank you for your response, Quentin! Sorry, I should have mentioned that I was using the 2.1 release. I was pick poking on my Nokia N800 when I submitted that request. Would you recommend using 3.0 alpha? I'll look for it and give it a shot.

Are you talking about the 2.1 release or the 3.0 alpha? The installer kernel of 2.1 is based on the etch installer, and it is Ancient Things will be better with the 64 Studio 3.0

i forgot to mention that i set the motherboard to AHCI mode in bios.
