Trouble with WineASIO after installation

I've found that the combination of WineASIO and my Roland UA-101 is a little touchy to get right during installation. I just did two installations in a row and in one I would get no WineASIO drivers showing up in my Windows apps and in the other I have success. I actually don't know the individual point of success in this because I'm limited in my patience to reinstall things. ;) First - what did not work: USB Audio device off throughout the installation Set up Jack and the native Linux version of XT2 (USB Audio recognised OK) Jack now running Set up XT2 for Windows (no WineASIO drivers recognised) Set up REAPER for Windows (no WineASIO drivers recognised) Re-installed WineASIO (just in case) - no luck Remembered that I needed to run: regsvr32 wineasio.dll - still no luck Re-installed XT2 for Windows (still no WineASIO drivers recognised) After this came some troubleshooting with alsa-base which somehow rendered my machine unbootable - time for reinstall. Second - this worked: USB Audio device on throughout the installation Set up Jack (USB Audio recognised OK) Run: regsvr32 wineasio.dll Jack now running Set up XT2 for Windows (WineASIO drivers recognised) I'm not sure whether it was the leaving the USB device on during the install or ensuring that I run the WineASIO command before installing trying anything that made the difference - but as far as I'm concered - lesson learned. Has anyone else had issues like this? Regards Caleb
