Greetings folks. I have been following the project for many months now and have downloaded and installed all versions for i386 and amd64 . Version 1.4 (64bit) installs and boots fine on my ASUS m2v-mx using an AMD 4800+ 64 bit dual core processor with 320 GB Seagate sata2 drive and 2GB RAM. Version 2 nor a synaptic upgrade of version 1.4 will boot. Suggestions? regards, Noel.

Greetings folks, a follow up. I have bought a new motherboard (ASUS M2NPV-VM) as a replacement for the one previously mentioned (ASUS m2v-mx). 64studio Version 2.0 AMD64 appears to be fully functional but for one small problem. The screen resolution is 640x480. Cutting to the chase, how do I get the on-board NVIDIA GeForce 6150 GPU to increase its resolution to 1024x768? There is no other option in "system, preferences, screen resolution" other than 640x480.Suggestions? Regards, Noel.

Nvidia drivers (again)

Hi Noel, I hate to ask you this, bit did you install the new nvidia modules Free included in the 64studio repository? For your GeForce 6150 you would need the following packages
  • nvidia-glx
  • nvidia-kernel-2.6.2x-1-multimedia-AMD64 (the x depends on your installed kernel: 21 for stable and 22 for testing)
  • nvidia-kernel-common
Then all you need to do is edit your /etc/X11/xorg.conf as root: Under "Device" change the line Driver "nv" to Driver "nvidia" After a reboot you should have the full resolution range of your graphics adapter available. Cheers,

Kernel regression?

Free mentioned a re-release of 2.0 when some of the issues surrounding the RT kernel has been sorted out upstream. Perhaps you are one of the victims of the kernel's slight problems. I have no problems whatsoever, and the new kernel runs better than ever on my Asus A8N-VM with AMD Athlon64 x2 3800+ We'll see though when I do a clean install from 2.0 next month - but I expect no surprises! Cheers,

Thanks
