30beta3 firewire, repos KDE etc

Hello, I finally have 3.0beta3 up and running. Looks very promising :-) I did not manage it to see/activate my presonus firebox: [31mFatal (devicemanager.cpp)[68] initialize: Could not initialize Ieee1349Service object The new firewire-handler in kernel 2.6.29 has made 2 devices as I plugged the firebox, fw0 and fw1. Maybe ffado could do better, but if I try to start jackd with -dfirewire I get a "unknown driver" message... Even more important: what repos can I use to add software to the basic set? I sorely miss specimen and seq24 and I am not the biggest fan of GNOME so I use to install XFCE and a bunch of KDE-apps right after any install of a GNOME-based distro... AND: I NEED a devel-tools and stuff to build qtractor, ardour etc from SVN. Would it be recommended to add lenny-repos to sources.list?

good to hear that this issue is known :-) Here we go with another: I build Ardour2 SVN today without real problems so I thought, any jack/audio related dependency should be history in my install but alas: Building calf failed because the libjack.dev-package did not install libjack.la-files. I found out, that this problem is known also in the debian-realm so it will probably be fixed before long. Until then: what can I do to get the proper libjack.la-files?

FFADO currently only works with the old firewire stack. This has been reported and there's an issue in trac (http://trac.64studio.com/64studio/ticket/461). There's some good information on how it could be solved: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/276463 Looking forward to having it fixed so I can test some stuff with my firebox as well!
